Looking for laid back island life? How about a lively night out on an island? Or best of both worlds…? Well, Gili T has you covered with all aspects, it has the quiet side for chilling out and the lively side for late night drinking.
Gili T is something else, it’s a tiny little island off the coast of mainland Bali, only reachable by boat. Once you jump off the speed boat and thank your sandy toes you made it there, it’s a blissful buzzing island with no cars or mopeds. The only transport youll find here is your own two feet, a horse cart and a bike!
Cycle round the island in an hour, cycle to and from your yoga classes, to and from your scuba diving lessons, or cycle back to your hotel half sloshed from the amount you have consumed during a sunset session.
During both stays on Gili T I stayed at Le Pirate, the most picturesque, blogger loving location on the island. Think white and blue wooden huts, little sandy pools, unbelievable cocktails and a great sunset spot. This is located on the quiet side, therefore it’s a horse cart ride in, or a dark cycle ride back, so if you aren’t equipped with a torch and want to be in the hub of it all, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. But even if you don’t stay here, come on down for a pool day, as the main pool is accessible for all!
If you are worried about what to do on a small island, there are plenty of things to keep you occupied…here’s the short list that I send to my friends when they are off to the beautiful Gili’s.
Places I recommend eating at are:
